Welcome to Vexel Art week with Project Educate! I am ^TheLastHuzzah, your host for the week. Today I am introducing you to Vexel Art, and digging nice and deep to aid the understanding of this fantastic media. Introduction
Vexel Art takes a great deal of time, patience and skill, contrary to public opinion. This misunderstanding has arisen because, sadly, it is often (incorrectly) said that vexel art is simply tracing a posterized photograph. While I do agree that this is a way that many people start off in the media, and a small number of people continue in it, vexelling is a form of drawing, in the same way as any other media. Vexel Week Winners!After a wonderful week, and lots of participation in the events, I can happily announce the winners from Vexel Week!

Trivia Chat
First was the trivia chat event held on Friday 11th, with 20 questions all somehow relating to vexel art around dA

Thanks to everyone who came along, and also a special thanks to `dekorAdum who kept the chat topic updated for me, for I am not really chat-savvy yet

PE Artist Interview: renen02Hello! How are you today? Could you tell us a little about yourself?
I’m doing great! I’m Renato Mariano and you can call me RENEN from the Philippines. I have been a member of DA for almost three years. Often times looking at DA refreshes my inner soul.
So, when did you first discover Vexel Art?
Actually I was an avid fan of vector art. Browsing different kinds of art leads me to discovery of vexel art, which turn out to be more exciting. Through vexel art I was able to explore colors and concept to my artworks which thought me the virtue of patience in putting all the details and elements.
And how would you describe your work?
I tried to give the impression of a detailed realistic vexel art. I love putting different elements needed to produce best art possible but it takes a lot of time.

The freeform pen tool and graphics tablet were a godsend for doing the clouds

I've never vexelled clouds before. They took a while...

Sooo, pretty alien girl, clouds, moon, stars and a comet

I had too much fun making this. I didn't want it to end
